Honda uses an ACE (Adavanced Compatibility Engineering) structure that would aid the pedistrian to roll up over the car in the event of a collison instead of under. Volvo recently introduced a City Safety sysyetm that would actually stop the vehicle in the event of a potential collision at low speeds. See the video above.
